Yeah right,
I don't remember saying, "Give up the CPD because it's unfair and discriminates against those with under 15 years service", that was done without the consultation of the members as were many others to settle the dispute.

Perhaps you should stand for election as a Union official since (once again) you seem to know best.
But I'll bet you won't.
Try the FOA, they may be able to satisfy you?

1) Why should I need to, "We are all the union" and is my statement inaccurate then?
2) You're right, I won't.
3) I doubt it.

We are the union, however it would seem that during the dispute of 2002 the union leadership was out of step with its members, as can be seen by the number of officials who left soon after the dispute ended.

Although this thread has gone slightly off track from CPD to the union, I just wanted to bring it back on track a little. What I notice about the whole CPD process is that there comes a point when you simply can not fulfil the criteria.
Take a firefighter, they are a motor driver, have a specialist qualification to operate specials at the station, have a B.A. refresher and First Aid when it comes up, and then what? There are only so many courses you can do, the scheme seems designed that after a period of time a long serving firefighter is penalised for remaining so, rather than rewarding then.
Just my observation.
