So what turned up at Paddington a few weeks ago?
Just found out there is problem with emissions these new Ariel's produce, the LFB are going to have to go to the Major and ask for an exemption until these vehicles are sorted by AssetCo.

A new TL can usually be seen in Paddingtons yard, but this is for training only.

There is no exemption for the low emission zone, either they are fitted with particle traps by the 4th of Feb, or A(r)sset Co. are paying £200 squid every day they are operational in London.
They've only known about this date for the last 4 years. :?

The start date for the new London low emission zone has been postponed until March, as TFL (surely not?) had'nt publicised the scheme enough.

i know its not a TL but the good old pod system is the one for this. we have a hose layer at our station and was told no replacement for 18months odd. just think of the fines ££££££££££££

You will find all the remaining HDC's are due to be converted (with emission abatement gear) to the euro 3 standard by the 4th of March.
We're not exempt, and they're not going to be paying £1400 a week, when the particle filter kits cost about £4K fitted.
Our two units have both been done.

Do you have any further details on the replacements for the HDCs?
The current pods in use are HOSE LAYER, BULK FOAM, DAMAGE CONTROL, BREATHING APPARATUS, and HAZMAT SUPPORT, so are they going to have individual types of vehicles replacing each of these? Or a more general vehicle combining?
I think the Hazmat Support pod has become obsolete, given the new DIM / SSU.
Also the Breathing Apparatus pod is obsolete because the OSUs carry bulk B/A. I've also read that the Damage Control units have been taken out of service.
Surely the LFB will need specilaised hose layers and foam tenders/tankers though...?
