Anyone got an idea when the water carriers might come on the run?

I think taking off the badges is one in a long line of stoopid ideas from the civy side of the brigade. They seem to want to weed out all the pride and passion we feel for our brigade. We don't do this for the money, we like the Armed forces, ambulance and police do this job because that is the sort of people we are.
We aren't a profit making organization and the sooner they work this out the better it'll be for everyone. Probably a rant for another post

I just want to know why we can not have our creast and the words London Fire brigade. I am proud and so are the vast majority of serving firefighters.
Picture I took last year in Chicago if you look you can see the truck is flying the stars and stripes the rear offised locker has a message about 9-11

Because we are governed by politicaly correct cowards. We now live in a society where the minority dictate what the majority have to abide to.
Look at what happened over at Shadwell when they flew the British flag during the last gulf wall, they were orderd to remove it and then we bent over backwards to appease the local migrant population. Jesus.
I've got 11 years until I can move abroad (Stockholm) god only knows what other sheeite we'll have to swallow before then.

Just like to add a small comment from New York City relative to unlettered and/or unmarked apparatus. For many years the FDNY minimized company markings on the rigs and the crews did not give them a lot of attention. When the larger numbers were applied to the cab doors, a little bit of pride came onto the job, best seen when a unit got a spare apparatus is was immediately given a number made from duct tape! As you might expect the duct tape lettering left the rig looking pretty bad so eventually magnetic company numbers were supplied to each unit to use when operating with a spare. Starting with the late 1988 Seagrave deliveries, it became policy for each company to have either the company nickname (i.e. 'Midtown's Most Wanted') or the station nickname (i.e. 'Harlem Hilton') on the cab roof above the windshield; and provisions for markings at certain other defined locations on the rigs.
This simple expedient gave the company members 'ownership' in their rig and upkeep/appearance has never been better; all for the rather low cost of a few decals!
A permanently assigned unlettered rig tells the crew that no one cares in my opinion so you know what can happen then.

Hi Edward,
Nice to see a new face around here, I think we all agree with you about the pride and ownership we take in our fire engines (couldn't bring myself to call it a rig) ( :D ). We always try to look after our 'own', even to the point of making minor fixes to appliance to keep them on the run. The Brigade used to let us change light bulbs but now due to health and safety and the blame culture we're not even allowed to change a bulb now (just in case we do it wrong I think).
I think we also have a slightly different problem with London as they don't even like to show that we're British let alone add an Identity to the appliance. There's been many a national occasion (world cup, St Georges day etc etc) where we're not even allowed to put a Union Flag on the appliance in case it offends some minority somewhere. We are rapidly loosing our National identity to the Polititcally Corrrect brigade.
That's one thing I've always liked about the USA is there national pride. Being able to put a flag outside your own house, are we Brits really in a free and democratic society?

Could the reason that there is no LFB signeage on the new vehicls simply be that.....
LFB dont actually own the vehicles?
Just a thought like...
