Before anyone starts ranting I’m just being the devils advocate and giving food for thought.. At present nobody is carrying out Pre arranged overtime, so how much many are we saving the brigade?
Take an average of 30 pre-arrange per shift and an average of £210 per person (based on an average of ranks and day and night shifts)
24hrs 30 x 2 x 210 = £12600
Week 7 x 12600 = £88200
Month 30 x 12600 = £378 000 + employers national insurance payments
and are we proving that the brigade can run with some machines off the run for shift?
Is seems management and the authority are more worried about face saving through partnership projects like “life” as it’s actually in the public domain and people might ask questions when an outside body cancels a course through the brigades fault!

Are we sure NO ONE is doing overtime or pre arranged!! I've heard of people doing it but that may just be 'rumour control'
I've been on leave for the last two weeks, so have been out of the loop but there are a few more posts from the Union today.

Whilst the budget for PAO may have been given a rest while the current dispute was on, the other side to this is all the out duties, we have had to have an emergency petty cash cheque sent out as we have gone through £1500 sending people out on out duties! plus their overtime, some of the lads are earning more than before the dispute.
