The new LFB websiteApparantly white straight males don't exsist in the job anymore looking at the images they have used. Are we now the minority? Have I missed something?

I thought it was just me. Either the pictures are of applliances, generic firefighters(no way of working out who they are) or minority groups. Thought we were reflecting the work force!

the funny thing is, one of the girls joined before me and got her WM's about 18months after me but I didn't get my big cheesy grin on the web site

New websiteI find it disappointing, that after all the effort this brigade has put in, in the on going education of diversity and equalities ,that they fail to see the in-equality of this site.
Yes, the majority of the work force is white male, yes ,we are under- represented by black and ethnic minorities, and yes we lack women in the service, but it's not the fault of the white male, but we are demonised by the Liberal, hand wringing brigade that run this Authority.
It's the lack of judgement shown in this site that could help fester racial disharmony by some in the brigade and put the hard work shown by the equalities and diversity section, the B .E.M , The Womens action group, and the over-whelming majority of the white male work force at risk.
I would be interested in knowing what members of the B.E.M and Womens section think of the of the format for this site.

To be fair there is a GM who is white shown in one of the examples, although I can't comment on his sexuality 
The web site has been set out nicely though and is looking like most normal sites rather than the outdated looking one we had.

It's sad isn't it, the fact that you can't have a white male on the front page of a web site because it will look like you don't employ black and ethnic minorities or women!
Personally I think it's a crap site anyway, there is nothing on there that lures people in. No wonder we aren't looked at in the same light as other fire fighters accross the world! Take New York...They are worshiped by the public, but becasuse of the government and everyone else like the cabbie that pictured the blokes in town and complained, we are looked upon and just normal everyday workers and not regognised for the hard job we do.
Anyway rant over, just thought I'd add my 2p's worth.
