Safety GlassesHere’s a couple of questions,
Why doesn't the brigade issue sun glasses to water rescue teams and rescue boat operators? after issuing them to HVP crews (because close to water) and Lambeth's boat crew.
Also why aren't any glasses either safety or sun issued to line rescue crews when they are issued to ALP and HP operators? 8)
Why aren't we issuing crews safety glasses for RTA's when the new RTC manual states 'safety glasses/goggles and visor are to be used when cutting'. The big clear goggles on the FRU aren't fit for purpose and do not fit under the full visor and steam up the second you put them on.
Someone's gonna have an accident and put a massive claim against the brigade

Just shows there is no joined up thinking coming from our leaders, more worried about counting the number of smoke alarms fitted.

Just order them on Poms, we did and received them all within two weeks. The specs cost a whole £2 a pair.
The case was the most expensive bit.

We can only wear them if they are issued to us and only then if you are doing the specific job ie USAR or HP. Have been told to my face to get them off by the boss which is causing me loads of grief due to headaches.
