ProfilesWas looking at the new people and not many have their profiles filled in, not sure what everyone thinks of the profiles I've set up? I know this is an open forum so some people may have reservations as to their names and stations being free for everyone to view.
Would people prefer this to be a closed forum and have people prove who they are (to me) or stay the way it is?

My experiance of closed forums is there can bet alot of slagging off, people hiding behind the fact no ones knows their true identy

The only way it will be 'closed' is to the general public (who can come on and read anything). Before being given access you'll have to give the Admin team your name, Role, watch and station.
This means if there is any abuse given out on the forum Admin can warn or even kick people from the site.
I have heard of bosses looking at forums and firing people that have said anything bad about their job, I would feel guilty if anything like that happened and I hadn't addressed it at all

Regarding Rob's mentioning of senior officers monitoring forums etc. it's worth mentioning that I know this site is viewed by individuals senior to anyone posting here. So I guess discretion should be the watch word (excuse the pun).
That said, I'm quite happy for the forum to remain open. I personally wouldn't say anything here that I'm not prepared to say publicly at work. Also, the site seems not to suffer abuse and is professional and work related. To make it closed might encourage a less professional approach.

Oh I'll have to watch my P's & Q's
I would like it if some of the senior officers that come on, would be prepared to sign on and post. We would at least get a balanced view of the brigade and maybe get some answers (whether good or bad).

Perhaps if some senior officers do look at his web site they might just get an idea of what the workers at the sharp end really feel right now.
