Why did`nt clothing the project team find out what trials were carried out by other Brigades/Authorities using their results to see what uniform addressed the B.S standards, that were also required for our operational needs, or do we in London do a different job.It might have proved quicker and a lot cheaper, or is it a case once again, that the gravey boat was to full to leave!. :?:

There are so many cases of little projects going on here and there within the brigade with lots of temporary; it’s never been of interest for me. I know that some people are doing it for their own needs i.e. better pension (but that has always been going on) and there are a few people who are truly trying to make things a bit better for us.
Some would say have a go yourself and see if you can do better. I know a few people who have gone up to the big house and have honestly felt that they could try and do the best for US, however there are so many different pulls on each topic, not just budgetary, but then national projects, things became out of fashion, new inputs and requirements it all becomes imposable to complete anything. Then you need to add to all of that a new Chief Officer, get some councilor who thinks they know best with there own personal agenda and it becomes almost impossible to complete any project and everything grinds to a sticky halt.
