Ok this is where I get myself in to trouble for being...........well wrong
The LSL's wern't anything before, they came in for London resiliance but I believe they are used as Operation Support Units which we use to call Equipment lorries and carried no mobile specials like the Motorised Rescue trolley.
I think the BAMIU was a 'pod' that was dropped into position by a 'van'
God I hope I am not so wrong as to get a ribbing on here :?

The Breathing Apparatus Major Incident Unit (B.a.m.i.u) has been Off the run since last year, this role is now with the Operational Support Unit, of which they are six, one of which I now tend to drive every second day and night.
They will also take over the DCT role very shortly.
WM's, please utilise us as I spend most of my time idle, or delivering barie sets. Exciting stuff.
For instance did you know that we can deliver bulk sand on the bell?
Or bulk bottled water for a protracted incident?
We have some PDA's, but are generally available to anywhere in London in under 20 mins.
As a foot note, the OSU's are now bespoke trucks, opposed to the old manual LRL's.
Manual lorries on the bell? Great idea that one was. :(
