Hi to you all I have been luking here for some time and find amny of the post of intrest.
I am in my forties and a Fire Brigade reject in so much as i applied for the London Fire Brigade many years ago but was rejected when they discuvered I have a mild form of Asthma (mind you I soppose nowadays that makes me a minority if i was to apply!!) This was despite having the privalidge of doing the Harrow Rat Run several times in BA kit with the help of one of the watches and had no problem with that but there you go (I cant imagine the thought even being entertained in todays world). Now as small business owner with 2 kids growing up real fast I have more time on my hands can look back may be at a "what if" and be a grumpy old man with all the changes happening in our world today.
I cant really disagree with most of the posts with the whole counrty being tied up in health and safety regs and political correctness. It is bad enough as a small business in London and i know that i would not last 5 minutes in any public service today let alone the London Fire Brigade.
I hope you dont mind me butting in here if you do just tell me.
