Hampstead - flat fire17 April 2009
Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a flat blaze on Finchley Road, Hampstead in the early hours of this morning.
A bedsit on the first floor of the three floor block was gutted by the fire and its occupier escaped before the Brigade arrived. Firefigthters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man and a woman from a flat on the first floor and another man from a flat on the second floor.
The Brigade was called at 0244 and the fire was under control by 0340. Fire crews from West Hampstead, Belsize and Willesden attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
