This forum is for serving or retired firefighters from the LFB. This is the place to have a moan, have a laugh and maybe even get some proper answers to some time honoured and new questions
"It is estimated that 5,000 firefighters from around the globe will arrive in the city for the 10-day WFG08 spectacle, which takes place between August 24 and September 2, 2008.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service (MF&RS) is delighted to be hosting the Games as its contribution towards Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture celebrations.
WFG08 is offering an exciting programme of more than 70 different events including football, table tennis, boxing, golf, fishing, triathlon, dragon boat racing, track and field, chess and a Fire House Cook-off.
But the blue ribbon event will be the hotly contested Toughest Firefighter Alive (TFA) competition on St George’s Hall Plateau. This stunning venue will be the setting where the competitors’ strength and stamina will be tested to the very limit."

As the world Firefighter games are being held in Liverpool, will there be in recognition of the indigenous people, special events held in removing wheels and stereos from cars in the quickest time. Bubble perm wig wearing and that old favourite one of talking bo**oks about having the best team in the world?
:D
