It seems, via my extensive and unquestionably effective research, that England (or London in particular) does not employ the use of the ladder truck.
By ladder truck, I mean a tractor trailer sized vehicle. You got the cab, then you got a very large trailer with a massive ladder controlled by a mini cab at the end.
Ah... heck... a pic is worth 1000 words:

Is this true? And why? London still has tall buildings.
(for the record.... my explanation of the ladder truck was rudimentary, not because I didnt think you guys wouldnt get it, but because I really dont know all the technical terminology)

Our roads can't cope with a normal sized lorry, that's why we'll never have a vehicle that size in London, or even Britain for that matter.

We don't have trucks that big but we do have similar ladders.

I havent been to England for around 2 years... 2 years ago I wasnt interested in fire fighting like I am now. I obviously didnt focus on road size in relation to fire apparatus back then.
