A few years ago I remember seeing a list of new vehicles that were due to come into service and I think I remember one called a welfare vehicle? I believe these trucks were to carry stuff for FF to use at long jobs and including portaloos etc. Does anyone remember if this is true or if I dreamed it up one night, also if it is, is still due to come into service?

We could get one with tea facilities, a couple of beds in case you get tired, a cooling room, some sandwiches . . .
I'd drive that one.

I believe R&D and some people from Asset Co were up in Merseyside to look at their version of this concept but whether the idea of one in the LFB is being taken further I dont know

Yes I noticed they come with Air Con and a kettle.
Bless them, they work hard in these armchairs.

You're quite right Tom, they have a van which is basically a mobile freezer for those that have suffered too much heat at a job.
I think they serve Flake 99's as well.

maybe thats what we should ask for, a portaloo built into the command units. i can see it now all the ADO's having their big pow wow and in you walk with a paper under one arm and you walk past into the little box and lay down a big steaming log.
Their faces would be priceless when you came out again.
