Dear Brothers & Sister,
We have been informed by the Brigade that they intend have a Brigade attendance at the G20 conference, it is their intention to have a number of appliances and specialist vehicles within the inner area, so as to be able to respond in the event of a an incident contrary to our advice.
The arrangements for this have not as yet been agreed at this time, however, we are working to ensure that all core/welfare arrangements have been put into place and that you are not put into any front line risk, and that the Brigade ensures safe systems of work without delay.
Firstly I would like to point out that we were informed very late about the need and the welfare arrangements, hence the delay in informing you, the cause of this we are told was the need to maintain security against both protesters and possible terrorism.
We must make it clear to you that you are only there in a fire-fighting roll and not for any security roll what so ever.
We understand the need made by the brigade for a presence at such event, and therefore the need to be there just before 05:00am given the security shut down and search time.
We have made it clear that the brigade must insure your safety at all times and that all security staff from any organisation are aware who we are where we will be located.
We have asked that there is continued reliefs at the centre itself and this is to managed at all times.
We would ask that you are vigilant at all times and ensure that should you have any doubts or concerns about anything within the inner cordoned area that you make these known immediately.
We have not agreed to anything yet, and will continue to raise concerns that we still have.
If there are any issues that you have concern about or would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact either Ian leahair or myself Gordon Fielden

Why do I feel another 31st of December 2000 coming along?
Chaos, rumours, panic, and 6 people and a tent will turn up.
