When are we going to get trousers that are functional and not just suitable for working at a desk? We need BDMs or cargo style trousers, both are smart but functional especially for the FRU crews.

In the same vain can someone please explain what justification the RRT(Hazmat R us) have to wear craighopper trousers? I'm sure the FRU crews have just as strong if not stronger case to have them.

And no its not the case of the green eyed monster

never!!

The brigade doesn't want to acknowledge that they are issuing uniform that is 'Not fit for purpose' until they admit this we are never going to get uniforms  that are designed for the task in hand.

They throw money @ USAR because the government are still paying for it, they can also claim that the Rapid Response Team are only a few so they can afford it (although I would ask the question why a team that needs fire gear, BA and GTCPS when working need high leg boots and BDU’s when sitting round the mess table)

They have issued sweat tops and BDU’s for the BA& real fire training to wear under their Fire gear (so why do these people wander around STC and wander to the shops wearing that gear?)

They also expect FRU trainers to do any manual labour or checks on the FRU wearing white shirt & tie or Fire gear, we don’t have a provision to have a suitable work wear issued to us.

You’ve got to remember this comes from the brigade that took the canteen away from the recruits, took parking away from instructors, took tea machines from all classrooms and though centralised training at STC was a good idea!!

Rant over
