Why doesn't the brigade have a summer and winter dress or uniform, it seems someone has come up with the bright idea of making the training staff wear ties. Now this may not be the 'end of the world' to other people even the police allow thier troops to loose the tie in the summer time.

I understand the new drive on standards and even agree that a shake up on the standard of dress on firefighters comming here on course's is a good idea but the tie thing is just pointless.

Now if they are goning to make us wear the ties when out of the office should the officers from Union street lead by example

As always one rule for them one rule for us. think its a bit late to start worrying about standards if I am honest. the phrase about bolting the stable door springs to mind.

I think you might find that the note on "shirt slevve order" or summer rig has not been removed. This relates to the wearing of shirts but not t shirts!
