Now here is a story which I want to tell to let off steam, it goes like this.
Back in May of this year I was notified that I would be receiving my 20 year medal (a little late I know) but still I was going to get it.
Right first thing first; place an order to have the long service and Queens’s golden jubilee medal ribbons sewn on to my undress jacket, with the ceremony in September.
I thought I would attend the ceremony at Southwark, take my partner and my parents, meet the Commissioner and just generally enjoy the day and the fact that the brigade still recognize and celebrates the achievement.
So here we are the day before the ceremony and guess what…………. Yep that’s right no F*”KING jacket. Having made various phone calls for the last month chasing the order up and being promised the jacket would be ready by today for me to collect from the tailor nothing, its lost no one knows where it is. The distribution centre at Croydon says they delivered it the tailor, he says he never had it and so it goes on. So now when I meet the Commissioner tomorrow on what should be a proud day for me and my family I am wearing some other guys jacket which is ill fitting, no medal ribbons and looks shite. To all those civilian staff who could not give a sh*t that work for us, I would just like to say a big thank you for being so useless at your job.
The only consolation from all of this is if the brigade can not get a jacket from Wimbledon to the tailors in 4 months what chance of the beds going or a shift change

Why couldn't you sew the ribbon on yourself?
