Chaps,
Easy in the knowledge that this will not find favour in the organisation, I'm doing it anyhow. This event is arranged completely outside the organisation. This is a private sporting event, organised by me, that may involve some members of the LFB, but they will in no way represent the LFB in any way.
It is proposed to put on a boxing show in April involving members of Battersea Fire Station. Training is underway and Will Hibbert, Stuart McDonald, Dean Berry and Wole Adesemoye are all stepping through the ropes. It is envisaged that there will be a number of other 3 x 2 minute bouts at other weights.
The location and exact date are yet to be confirmed. But sometime in April at either The Fight Factory in Purley, City Boxer in Blackfriars or Clinton McKenzie's gym in Herne Hill are likely venues.
Bouts will be under ABA rules, properly conducted, refereed and scored, but will be outside ABA affiliation. Therefore this is officially 3 rounds of sparring and will not be publicly promoted within the London Fire Brigade.
All are invited, there will be a nominal charge to cover the cost of the gym hire and to donate to the fighters' chosen charity. Look out for the fight posters soon.
Dave

Sounds great Dave, if I can find a baby sitter and the missus isn't working we'd love to come see the 'sparing'
Bin a long time since either of us watched or took part in a fight in the ring, may be just what I need to get off my backside and go back to training.

Chaps,
Looks like the boxing will be at Darren Chan's Fight Factory in Brighton Road, Purley on Saturday 31st May (by the fire station).
Just gotta firm a few things up but it's looking good. The BBC will be filming it (pm me for details).
At this time we have 3 fights at 4 x2 minute rounds. I'll post further detail on here as soon as I've done the posters.
