Blaze? Time to call the firebots

Bomb detonation robots which have been used in Afghanistan are now being recycled to extinguish hazardous fires.

Three 'firebots' have been adapted to deal with blazes that are too dangerous for firefighters to tackle - in particular gas fires.

Instead of having tools to remotely detonate bombs and landmines, the robofirefighters contain high-pressure hoses and thermal-imaging cameras.

The way things have been just recent for those poor lads out there, perhaps those robots would be better used out there sorting out roadside bombs.
